High School Senior Portrait Session at Top of the World in Laguna Beach
Looking for the perfect locations for your high school senior portraits should be easy. However, with Orange County having literally hundreds of gorgeous locations for a photography session, it can be tough to choose. In this blog post I am going to tell you why I love to photograph in Laguna Beach at the top of the world area and share Noah's senior session.
So how did we settle on top of the world in Laguna Beach for Noah's senior session?
Easy! Before the session, Brittany chatted with his Mom about places that were meaningful both to their family and to Noah. Since the Novick family lives very close to the trails and overlooks at Top of the World they spend a lot of time up there. Between family hikes, and a quiet place to read or play music, this spot has become a family favorite. As an Orange County photographer I always look for locations that are beautiful and significant to the subject.
As a High School senior photographer I look for a location that has some variation in landscape and background. Top of the World is a great photography spot as it has views of the ocean, winding paths, fences and large trees. For each outfit a high school senior brings to the photography session, I try to match the background and create an overall uniform look. Since 99% of our high school seniors choose a custom designed album to display their favorite images, I want a lot of variety and texture in all of the different images of the high school senior.
For Noah's high school senior photography session, we included his guitar, his dog and his family. We even got a chance to hear Noah play! The highlight from Noah session include hearing about him getting into his dream school (Tufts University), his crazy dog getting into some questionable tuna salad and his family and grandparents getting in on the end of the session for a few shots. I feel really fortunate to have been photographing Noah for years. He is an amazing guy with such a great heart. It is a little sad for me when families I have been photographing for years have their first kiddo leave the nest. BUT I am so happy for Noah and all of his success and I am excited to see what the future will hold. Enjoy a few more of my favorite images from Noah's senior sessions!
